The Shafaf app is a clear-aligner treatment companion provided by Shafaf Clear Aligners to its patients, used to follow their treatment in coordination with their clinic and treating doctor.

Data we collect

• Case & treatment data: your name, doctor, clinic, and aligner plan — sourced from your Shafaf treatment record.
• Wear time: the aligner in/out times you log in the app.
• Progress photos & feedback: the photos and notes you voluntarily submit in check-ins.
• Push token: a technical device identifier used to deliver notifications.
• Local preferences: language and reminder settings, stored on your device only.

How we use it

• To track and show your treatment progress.
• To let your doctor and clinic review your compliance and photos and provide better care.
• To send treatment reminders and notifications (can be disabled in settings).

Sharing

Your data is shared only with your clinic, your treating doctor, and Shafaf's medical team. We never sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising.

Storage & security

Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (Supabase) and always transmitted over HTTPS. Progress photos live in a private bucket accessible only to authorized clinic staff. Sign-in uses a QR code cryptographically signed by your clinic — no passwords.

Device permissions

• Camera: QR sign-in and progress photos.
• Notifications: reminders and the live wear-status notification.

Retention & deletion

We retain data for the duration of your treatment and as required for medical records. To request deletion or ask questions, contact your clinic or email us directly.

Minors

Patients under the age of majority may use the app as part of a treatment plan with guardian consent and clinic supervision.
